And for Elicia, losing quite a few loved ones in such a short time-frame hasn't entirely exhausted her youthful determination. She has a super hero to look out for her papa. And she has Jack's special compass. The last few days she's been outside her school with said magical device, pacing back and forth, watching the small needle turn and turn with no set destination. It's what she's doing today, pacing and watching it never stop. They weren't here. The people see was waiting for, that is. It's what she wanted most, and 'cause they're not here the compass says no.

Hey! Today I read a really good book; it was called the Swan Princess! I didn't know some of the words, but I knew mooost of them... It must feel really funny to change into animals and stuff. But the worst is getting turned into a frog! 'Cause you'd be all slimy and green and tiny! And you'd have to get a kiss, even though you're a frog...

But I'd kiss a frog! I-if it meant helping someone change back, I'd do it! ... Maybe on the cheek!

No. He's always been an octopus. A great ugly slimy thing.

But he is a very sad octopus because all his friends have been made into takoyaki.

If he were inspired he could find a way to change his poor little octolings back to normal again.

[It doesn't take her long to find the right place and assumably the right girl and so, hello, Elicia-chan. Here comes Robin with the biggest, ugliest, octopus plushie she can find. It also has puppy dog eyes for no reason that Robin can discern but it amuses her non-the-less.]

[Ah. How cute. But too young to be here, but Robin tries not to think about it to much as she kneels in front of the girl and has the octopus give a little bow as well, sweeping its tentacle out in a gesture worthy of Mr. Prince.]

He is very glad you could help him, Maiden. He's a very lonely, foolish old king. [and she shook the octopuses head back and forth]

[She frowns, reaching out to grab one of those plushie tentacles.]

He does look old...

He is old. Very old. Almost as old as the sea itself.

[She puts one of the tentacles in the girl's hand. It is soft and squishy.]

... Really? But isn't the sea really old?

Very old, but he was there when the first wave was born and tickled it until it curled.

[And here she waves another tentacle as if mimicking the tickling]

[... Elicia smiles. It must be kind of weird, being that old. Poor octopus! But then--oh...]

And all his friends are food now?
