[Something was really, really different. You didn't have to be a grown-up to tell people were turning into stuff. But Elicia—of course, being Elicia—never considered she'd be one of the ones on the list of the changed. After school she went home, and then... poof. Different. She felt it. And with good reason: under her normal clothes was a layer of red and black much like a different 'person' from her world. Her hair was suddenly pitch black on her head, and her the pupils of her eyes were no longer rounded, but sharp like a snake's. And purple. 

And had she any mind to check further, a blood-red tattoo had formed over the bumps of her tongue. With it came an intense hunger. Scared as she was to show her papa and sis, she snuck out of her room and into the kitchen. And then sat down and began to eat the entire box of cereal. And then ate an entire box of cookies. And... then ate an entire box of leftover pasta. Hey, she wasn't gonna... but it looked good, okay?!

Soon there were boxes littering the floor.

Still, so hungry... :'| ]

I feel really funny... Is it 'cause there are people turning into animals and stuff? I saw some on the way home, and then I turned funny, too! See? My hair's a funny color, now! And I got funny eyes, now... I like my other eyes better...

[A pause. Sniffle, sniff.]

A-and it's making me really hungry...! But I already ate lots of food, a-and I don't know why I'm still hungry...

[If you need her, she'll be in the front yard a few hours later, looking a little miserable. In fact, it's so overwhelming, she'll sneak out of the house at around 9:00—bedtime's hour—and go to the grocery store, where she'll proceed to hide out near the back and eat snacks. Mainly sweets, because darn it they taste so good ;~; Where is this food all fitting? It's a mystery unless you watched FMA .

Will she get back in time to not give her father a heart-attack? That depends on the people who find her, if papa notices, and Dani if she's as good a ninja as she is a gluttonous homunculus. Have no fear, she's not the people-eating type that Gluttony is. |Db

((ooc: I figure since ~homunculus~ is vague in FMA canon and wouldn't make any sense to be JUST that, Elicia'll be a Gluttony homunculus, since they need a sin to go with them. [This isn't her papa on the loose, not yet, but Sanji's spent a late night at the restaurant, and it's around 9:00 he finally closes up - with the better weather coming in, customers are willing to stop in and stay out longer.

Certain five-year-olds aren't usually included in this category. 8| Imagine his surprise when he turns and sees a young, raven-haired child with a eerily familiar build sneaking in the dark, towards the grocery. Uncertainty keeps him from calling out the first name on his tongue - Elicia-chan? - but curiosity and concern lead him to silently trailing her.

[She doesn't notice, not at all. Because she's focusing on how tasty a box of cookies would be, right now. 8|

Instead, she vanishes into the grocery, stature one of a kid who's nervous and guilty and I don't wanna get in trouble, and yet despite her compulsion to turn tail and climb back through her window, the compulsion emitting from her tummy is far more powerful.

She stops at one aisle, looks around, and then rips open a box of cereal and gets to eating it.]

With her back turned, Sanji still can't tell for certain who the child is, but his hunch is gaining conviction. Same pigtails, same manner of clothing...

And there's an experiment going on, can't forget that. He's damn certain whatever odd habits she's picked up can be traced back to it.]

... [Purposely, he brings his boots down heavily as he walks, signaling his presence, calling out softly] Elicia-chan?

She turns to show that yes, it definitely is Elicia, albeit with purple, snake-like eyes and pitch-black hair. And... black clothes under her nightgown?

But it's her, at any rate. And she drops the box and runs around the corner in a panic. Omgggg I am in so much trouble! I should've just eaten my sheets, or something!

BRB, crawling into a free space below a shelf in the next aisle. Might have, uh, knocked over a few little boxes of pasta in the process, but she'll wait there in the shadow.]

Elicia. [His voice is the same as before - just concerned and light, as he rounds the corner looking for her] I'm not upset with you, okay? Of course you're not a bad girl.

[She curls up a little more. He doesn't understand 'cause he wasn't there. He didn't see what she did to the kitchen. That wasn't all her food, and even if people said it was okay, it wasn't, 'cause it wasn't a good girl thing to do.

And now she's sneaking out and papa will be so mad but really, really he won't, he's papa, a-and she's not suppose to be out after dark—

Sniff, sniffle, and then a hiccuping, but fortunately less bawling:]

But I ate everything, a-and they had to clean up the kitchen, a-and I was still hungry...!

Even if that's true, no one's gonna be angry. [Her cries have given her position away, but rather than pull her out, Sanji settles himself on the floor, right by the spot she's cornered herself in]

[And at that, she very slowly crawls herself out from under the shelf, eyes downcast and not able to meet his despite the calmness of his voice. Don't you know, I wasn't good today?

While she wipes off any straying tears with the back of one hand, though, she does feel an apology of some sort is in order. So she leans in and wraps her arms around him after a beat, still shaky in the chest because she's still letting her initially panicked crying subside.]

... I'm sorry, I'm real real sorry...

[When she crawls out, the long-held breath of tension breaks with a barely audible, relieved sigh. And he wraps an arm around her small shoulders until his hand settles on her head.

Child, you will be the death of him.]

Maah maah, I told you. I'm not angry. [This is beyond her. No idiot here would dare blame this on a little girl] You're just hungry, right?

I'll tell you what - the next time it gets this bad, you can call me on the journals. I'll come by and make something especially for you~!

Even though I'm hungry all the time, I feel fine! And I never ever get full, 'cause I drank a whole thing of milk and then I ate all the stuff in the cold part on top of the 'fridgerator and then I ate all the pepper!

It's becoming eerily apparent how far this hunger stretches, in ways that makes the chef's teeth clench in his mouth. And Sanji would wish she didn't have to know what it feels like, if it'd do anything to help.]
