3rd Teddy Bear [Video][Eaaaarly morning of the 15th]

[Elicia is totally grown-up. I mean, she's five whole years old! And as such, she of course needed her own room with her own little bed. One little issue: she doesn't quite enjoy the heavy rain and thunderstorm outside. She has made a resolute promise to herself that she wouldn't run like a bat out of hell into her father's room, even if the noises and colors scare her silly. And like all little kids, she doesn't realize that promises like these are silly, because that's what papas are for anyway, right?

The journal opens quietly as she hides under her blankets in her sleeping gown, frowning into her hands.

And yes, it's about 1 in the morning. Some of you must be up, right?]

When you're scared, what do you do to make it all better?

[She makes a squeaky noise when another loud boom of lightning flashes.]

I-I mean, if someone is scared... and stuff...

[For a second, she can hear an echo of that last rumble through the journals before Derek answers.]

[Winry had stayed up all night, and was about to crawl into bed when Elicia's entry came up.]

If someone is scared they can try talking to friend, or thinking about things that make them happy.

[Okita's usually up at this hour after the New Feathers come in.]

When I was scared, I used to make a game out whatever was scaring me. Or give it a silly name. Then it wasn't so scary anymore.

[Sup, kiddo. Storms + small child + suspiciously timed squeak, huh?]

Storms are pretty mean, aren't they? You'd think they would be nice and quiet so we could all get some sleep.

[One in the morning? No sweat for someone who doesn't necessarily need to even sleep. Presea was up in her room, knife is hand and carving a charm out of it to pass the time. When she hears the child's voice, and her question, she blinks, and slowly smiles.

Ah, this brought back bittersweet memories of the children she used to care for long ago in her homeland. They must be so grown up now...]

I...would usually tell a story, explaining the object I was afraid of in a more pacifistic manner.

I think of things that make me feel good, like the people I care about.

[Well, can't explain cooking therapy to someone who's a bit young for that. So....]

I try to think of something really silly instead. If I can laugh, then I don't feel so scared.

...and cuddling stuffed animals helps, too.

[Yeah, the storms keep her up too now. ...In fact she may also be under her blanket, because it stops her from seeing the lightning]

It depends on what the scary thing is.

[Oh, you little girls! You're all gonna be the death of him someday.]

I deeply analyze my given situation and try to come to a more reasonable response..

[It's awfully late for such a young-sounding child to be awake -- not a good thing. Ayumu's own voice is low, lest she wake anyone else at her home who might be trying to sleep.]

Is there anyone else there with you? Sometimes it helps just to know you're not alone.

I remember that it's all gonna be okay. Even if something's scary, it's not forever, and it's not bad just 'cause you don't know what it is.

[Not quite voice. Just yet, anyway. Raine's awake, tired, and ... just half listening in, really. Children do always have a habit of asking the most difficult questions, don't they? ... Mn.]

[Ah... He remembers talking to her before.

This is probably more of Sora's forté, but he might as well give it a shot.]
