27th Teddy Bear [Action Anytime]
[Elicia was expecting to be in the middle of a scuffle between enemy winged soldiers. Not to be waking up half-drugged and in an old-fashion malnosso dress. She hadn't done this little dance in a few years now... What did that mean? Did they come back? Impossible, they were... Well, we'll figure this out as we go, Elicia. When she gets up, she nearly falls over, and finds with frustration that her automail leg wasn't working properly. Something was wrong with the knee—aaah, Winry would be pretty grumpy about that.
'This would be the second time this week.'
But it's around the time she cracks open her journal that she realizes something's not right. These entries, they're only up to her sixth birthday? No, that can't be right. Where did all her other.... Oh. Oh wow.
She was fourteen years in the past.
She limps out of the forest, dazed but not confused enough to ruin her train of thought: go to the item shop, find her clothes. The Malnosso always left clothes. And then she'll head to the smithy, to find her sword and... and then she'll need to find Winry in the smithy. Now dressed up, she's found herself a good pair of glasses; if she can... if she can, she'd rather not tell them who she is. Would that change things?
Would that be so bad, though? She's not entirely sure. She's nervous and worried and—and—
... nostalgic. Much much later, after everything, she'll head to the houses of people she's most familiar with. A lot of people aren't where she remembers, but she'll try to find them none-the-less. Probably after heading to where her mom and dad are. She'll also be wondering around in awe at the place. So much different and yet so much changed.... Don't mind her if she looks dumbfounded at something, or surprised at another. If you're expecting a shorty, you'll be surprised—she's 5'9". Her father has great genes, like that.]
[ooc: EDIT: sorry, but it turns out a second post isn't gonna happen; this post exploded! XD You can catch her on the draft, pre-draft log or malnosso journal draft post though!
Go here to see extra information about her future relationships and her. Go here to fill out the relationship post if you haven't yet!
And lastly, I'll reply to this in a few hours! Got something to do real quick.]

Sorry, I'm sorta' a big sword person. You're really good, I can tell.
[God, you still own that hat? :|]
no subject
Aa? Pretty good, yes... [Looking flattered. Then he snorts a little self-depreciating. He's a modest man.] But certainly not the best. But I try...
[Looking around for a weapon on you] You're quite the swordsman yourself?
[He's cocking his head slightly to the side. Vaguely familiar in that disturbing 'of there's no way in hell I could know you but your eyes and face are known to me, and I'm getting creepy we've met vibes all the same' way.]

no subject
May I ask who taught you?
[It comes out soft and confused as his brow furrows in more deja vu. Familiar yet not. Hell of a bit of cognitive dissonance here.]
no subject
[... /point]
But if you spar with me, maybe I'll give you the lowdown. [Uncle Law.]
no subject
So familiar. Words aren't going to be enough in explaining this, huh?
And this? Is more honest anyway.]
With an offer like that, how could I refuse?
[Small battle ready smile tugging his lips. Ladies first.]

[She draws her sword and leaves no time for stances, capacity core jingling at her belt while she suddenly picks up speed from Kipinn (someone who is side-eyeing her so hard, I'm sure) to dart at him with saya held strong in her other hand. She's curious to see how much has changed, and how little hasn't.
Wary of any possible future movements--so very wary, because even in sparring, you have to act accordingly--she goes to connect blade with blade, and pushes back with any force the wind offers her. Getting the opponent's footing off is always a good way to start and end things quickly.]
no subject
The capacity core is a good tell to judge her movements, though. It swings with her hips - giving away her true intentions if she tries to feint.
(He would have mentioned that in that future.)
And the blades lock solidly, his footing is firm, and he pushes back, his blade held in a one handed grip while the other holds his saya. And he will keep increasing the pressure until her hold begins to give - a test of strength.
He nods approvingly:]
Nice.
no subject
Hopefully he won't be surprised if said capacity core moves in the complete opposite of what her motions are, so she can bring her sheath toward Law's side in a sharp, swift motion at the ribs, under his sword-wielding hand; Kippin's winds are good for more than just going faster.
After all, you're the teacher, and what you teach should always stick. The more unreadable the movements, the better the odds. And even if she's sure she can't match him yet, she's at least determined to show a trick or two.]
no subject
Sneaky. Oh he likes that. He likes that very much. It doesn't surprise him; it delights him strangely. Not a battle thirsty sort of delight either. It's more prideful.
And he has to wonder at that.
Because he doesn't know her, but he does. There's something too familiar about this.
So with a more powerful burst of strength he breaks the lock, possibly throwing her back - her turn to be unbalanced - while twisting out of the way of the incoming saya. The twist is turned smoothly and instantly into an incoming strike of his own - just a little faster than what she used before with Kipinn.]

She hopes the surprise of it will be enough to hit his shoulder with the backside of her katana, at least until he realizes she wouldn't be actually losing any legs. Again. Regardless, if he manages to block—with his saya, perhaps? she keeps an eye out—then she will jump back and resume a fighting stance.
Maybe with a little smirk. Maybe.]

...
... flipping the nodachi around from cutting edge to blunt...]

CLANG
Seriously, what if he had been coming in to cut steel.]
Done
The blunt end of her katana whacks into his saya - even if you are surprised, your body should still instinctively fight on autopilot for you until your mind can catch up, or you will die very quickly in battle - and he shoves it aside.
And then he moves back as well, stance loose and flexible, and scrutinizes. Notes that possible smirk.
And that she's countered everything he's thrown at her like she knew it was coming. Granted, it's still early in the fight, but a picture is staring to form. She knows what he's going to do... and the way she fights so far is eerily similar to his own.
And the way she's so hauntingly familiar...]
I taught you, didn't I?
[Didn't he?]
no subject
...
Oh.
She drops the stance at that.]
Maybe just a little.
no subject
[You can't be so like him unless there was a lot of training involved. Little...
... there's only one person in Luceti who he even was considering teaching. And those wings. and those eyes and... you look a lot like your mother actually.
Oh.
And yesterday you were taken.
Lord.
Do your parents even know yet?]
...
... you've grown up so fine, Miss Elicia.
[And if he trained her, and she's so old, that means...
A quiet chuckle.]
Did your father ever find me that wife?
[Humor in the face of this.
Of course you would know about Operation: WIFE HUNT.]
no subject
[She laughs, itching her chin thoughtfully.]
Like always, you're super perceptive. I've had to tell most people who I was.
no subject
[He chuckles] I have my moments. And there aren't many I'd consider for students.
You were very talented at five, you know... I don't know if I told you that later on, but you were. With impressive spirit.
[He smiles] You've gotten very strong. [Best One Piece compliment there is.]
no subject
Well, I had Luceti with me. It's pretty hard to grow up weak when I've got people like you and the Strawhats and... well. [She motions around.] The resources are vast.
no subject
And well. It does take a village, doesn't it?]
Are some of them still around? [... that's something. Like how he's still there is something.] Well, come in and tell me about all it. I'll get you a beer. [You'll probably appreciate it if you haven't hit your parents yet. Steadying nerves.]
... and this person that's gone and stolen my heart. [Humor] Pirate, you know. I might want to go about and steal theirs in return.
no subject
Just... don't tell my parents.
[She'd secretly love a beer, yes.]
Haha, you might be surprised. Maybe I should let you do a guessing game of who it could be.
no subject
[Damn right he won't tell her parents. He isn't inclined to dodge gunfire.]
So it isn't some dark, mysterious figure from out of left field? [Whistle.] I don't know, how long are you willing to play? I could be at it for a while.
I guess lady by the way.

[It's so not mean. He's thoroughly enjoying the banter. Come in, he'll lead the way to the kitchen and the fridge, where there are some cold ones waiting.]
Alright... [This one's a joke. He could never see him being interested. Ever.] Uchiha Itachi.
