4th Teddy Bear [Action][Forward-dated to daytime]

[A relatively normal day, so far. Elicia'd been coloring up pictures of pirates (fire-breathing lions were soooo last week) and was generally relaxing in her new setting. Lots of new friends and happy times! But as she finished up Mr. Pirate's peg-leg, she happened to notice, by chance, something out the apartment's windows...

A small bird limping across the grass outside!

Well, leaving it certainly wouldn't do... It'll only take a second to go see and it's close by, so it'sokay!—besides, it looks like it could rain in a little bit... She has to make sure the little critter wasn't stuck out during a drizzle...

So Elicia leaves the apartment and rushes down the stairs, slip-on shoes click-clacking all the way. She can see the bird in the distance trying to flap a mangled wing, and runs toward it... which is, in hindsight, a bad idea, because it just darts into the brush. She continues for a few seconds until she's in a little clearing, where soft frenzied chirps meet her ears.

A tree! Over there~!

She climbs its jutting roots and looks into a hole to find baby birds, all chirping and fat... like their mama? Aaah, but that means mama bird was missing! Was it really the one she'd chased earlier? Well, she'll just sit and admire the babies for now while waiting for any sign of said mama birdy, whenever you feel like bumping into her.]

[a little blond girl climbing up a tree to save (?) birds... this is almost something straight out of his childhood, as is the memory of Kotori almost falling out of said tree. he rushes over]

W-what are you doing up there?

I found baby birds, but I was waiting to see if I could find the mama—it had a hurt wing! [She motions her arm in the air to mimic this mother bird.]

Have you seen it, mister??

With a hurt wing...? [looks around] Where did you see it?

I—I followed it here, and then it just went away somewhere! I've been looking for it all over...

I see.

Well, stay there and don't move. I'll see if I can find it... [and looks around]

[O-okay! She sits and fiddles quietly in the tree while the babies chirp and look so cuuuute~

And suddenly, she sees the brush move!]

Mister, mister! Over there!

[She points excitedly over to it.]

Where? [looks at where she's pointing then goes over quietly] Yes. I see it... be quiet now or you'll scare her away.

[She hushes as soon as he tells her so, as the bird head pokes out of the brush. And just stares. With such a lineface. B|]

[he approaches slowly]

Hi. Are you alright? I'm here to help you... I can heal that wing for you.

[asobouyo]

[It just sits and. Linefaces. So very disapprovingly.]

It looks so grumpy all the time...

[That is one very grumpy bird... he puts a hand palm up on the ground] Let me help you. I mean no harm.

[The lineface bird stares for a minute, and then. Bounces forward toward the hand. Very grumpy-like. Don't think she ain't watchin' you, boy. B|]

[sighs a bit and stands up, then he cups her gently with both hands and heals her]

[And little birdy goes bye-bye toward the nest after Elicia wriggles herself down the tree trunk.]

A-are you like a magician?!

[he smiles a bit] No, that's just healing magic. Everyone can learn it here.

Ooooh, so I can heal birds, too, if I learned how?

[smiles] Yes.

H-have you got to heal a lot of people??

Yes. I work at the clinic.

At the clinic?

So you're like a real doctor!

No, not really, because I don't have any medical training. All I can do is use a bit of healing magic and make sure everything runs smoothly at the clinic.

Oh!

So you think when I'm older, I can work there, too? I like making people healthy and not hurt!

Of course you can. You can come visit sometimes too. Some of the patients feel a little sad and lonely being at the clinic and he would be nice to have someone help cheer them up a bit.

All right! I'll ask papa if I can cheer people up sometimes! I can make cards and stuff... and bracelets! I learned how to make those!
