[Over a month ago, Elicia lost her mother. Months before that, she'd lost her father. It was a difficult step-by-step process, adjusting to the new life in her home. It was Edward and Winry, and a room that felt like blasphemy to touch. She'd go in there sometimes to sit on the bed and read or nap, as if compelled by some force she didn't quite understand. But things were getting easier, and smiles weren't so hard to muster; in fact, they came naturally again. With the help of some good friends—'family', by all means—she's been keeping up with her gardening, writing letters to a family who doesn't live here anymore, drawing for a gallery...

To be honest, she's overly excited about the idea of a gallery.

» ELICIA VISION INITIATED

(There's rubble all around her. As she breathes in, hot and tired, on her knee, a robot as large as a truck walks slowly toward her. Her lungs feel needy, and her suit is covered in black marks as she rises back up to her feet.

"Save us, Iron Lion!!" Edward cries from the cage at her right, clutching the bars with a nervous expression that matches the other trapped souls (Pepper, holding her hands to her chest in worry; Sanji, face shadowed in a really shounen way; Sheena, holding her arm and hissing; among other mighty heroes). Miss Raine is healing Sailor Cicada, who took a hit in her stead. "Win for me, Sailor Lion!"

She looks over, suit's eyes aglow, and nods.

The robot laughs, voice electronic and cold, and aims his giant rocket arms in her direction.

"You'll never beat my arsenal...!"

She clenches her fist and teeth, glowering behind her mask.

"There's nothing my lasers can't break through!! I'll do it for the village! Haaa—!!")

ELICIA VISION, DEACTIVATED.

Aaaand in reality? A child is leaping around at imaginary things in front of her house to protect her gardening equipment. And yeah, all that dialogue is being spoken by her, working her pitch to match the person talking.]

I'll save you!! Don't worry, Iron Lion'll never give up!

[How she really looks isn't as cool as that image in her head... but hey, she's more back to normal instead of moping, at least. So much so that she runs around wearing a familiar looking red and gold helmet she'd gotten for her birthday, making woosh noises and putting her hands out like she's shooting things. And then every so often she jumps and there's a little gust of wind all around her feet when she lands, filial magic at its most handy for playing imaginary. This robot? He's going down. In her head. Whatever. It's intense, okay!!

Then a little later, Elicia—still in costume—can also be seen pushing the side of her head against the ground, as if listening for something.]

Hello, everyone! My name is Elicia! If you just got here, don't worry; I'm a superhero and I can help as much as I can. There's lots of good heroes here that will answer you if you need—um, um... if you need aid! Aid and rescue. I can heal you if you have scrapes and bruises, too!

[Hey, she's not wearing the toy helmet now, but she is wearing her cape.]

Are there other superheroes here? We should be friends! My world didn't have cool superheroes like here, but we did have some heroes! They didn't wear cool costumes or have neat powers, though. Just alchemy... It's kinda like heroes, I think.

I-I'm Sailor Lion! My powers are roaring and swiping, but I do lots of things just in case those don't work on a bad guy!

[Mercury has that way of speaking with children as seriously as she might to an adult.]

That's a very good idea. You might find yourself in a situation where you can't use them, and you'll be glad something else will work.

Yeah! And I was thinking about getting really good at using a sword, so when I'm older I can fight with one too. Like Uncle Law does!

You might not have known it, but I also use a sword. When you're just a bit bigger, you should be able to learn, too.

You know how?? That's really cool!

So many people know all kinds of ways to fight here...

It's sad that people have needed to, or feel the need to. But I think it's remarkable that people have learned so many different skills and abilities they can use to help each other.

Yeah... I think. Um. I think there'll always be bad guys, but... but there'll always be good guys, too!

That's right: When the people need someone, someone will come to help them.

[Right now, that's her and her comrades; but Usagi - Sailor Moon - had once said that something else would save them, another way would be found, if Ami had held decided not to become Mercury after all.]

Someone like you, maybe.

I'd like that. I'd like to be someone who can help.

It feels nice to be a hero who can help people...

You know... I always thought the same, too. It turns out, I found there are a lot of ways to help someone. Maybe it's fighting to protect them. Maybe it's helping them with other work they have to do. Maybe it's even just cheering them up when they need it most.

Yeah... Yeah, you're right. Like helping them bake, or--or cleaning for them! Or being a doctor!

Doctors are needed by everyone everywhere, all the time. [And this, though she'd disliking admitting it, is her true main reason for wishing to be one. To be needed, to have something to give.]

Mn. It's good to do things like that. If we all do, we'd have a better time here.

You should also be careful to attend the school regularly and study hard at your lessons.
