34th Teddy Bear [Voice]

[An hour or so after bed, Elicia hears something creak. It's harmless and probably something like a tree scratching something, or a mouse finding its way. But it sparks a barrage of images within this small child's brain that would probably make a therapist shake their heads. Things like floating objects and scary figures and things under her bed oh god. Acute paranoia tonight, this one. So she speaks in a really low whisper as though she's on a secret mission, hidden up to her ears in blanket. Must be a nice windy winter night.]

Um....

Are ghosts real? They aren't, right? But—But I guess good ghosts are okay! Do those count? Are they real either?

[Her eyes dart from one side of the room to the other, and she's totally expecting something scary to happen on one side or the other. Any minute now. No, no, be brave, there's nothing going on. Nothing at aaaaall. ;~;

Gulp.]

Oh! New Feathers are here, too... huh...

I'm Elicia, and I'm six years o—

[rustle rustle]

Meep!

[...And back under the sheets. Yup.]

[At this point, Elicia is a round pink blob in the middle of her bed, courtesy of the sheets dragged over her head. And she jumps in surprise at the knocks on her door.

Oh hey there, it's just Winry. Phew.]

Um, yeah! I'm here!

Do you want company? [Winry smiles, and waits for Elicia's answer.]

I-if you want to...! I mean, I'm not scared or anything! I'm just... not sleepy!

['///' yeah]

That okay, I was just- [come on, make up an excuse-] cold. My bed just doesn't want to be warm tonight.

You were cold? [What, that's horrible! D8] You can definitely come in and lay with me, then! 'Cause being cold doesn't fell nice at all!

[Winry walks in, shuts the door, and scoots in next to Elicia.]

Ohhhh! Your bed is so warm.

[She was about to say something, but then the house gives a good creak from the outside nature, and she's stuck to Winry like a snail.]

Eep!!

[Winry smiles and holds Elicia.]

Did you hear that, Elicia? I think it was a tree scratching on your wall saying, "Are you asleep yet?"

[.... :O]

I-it's... just a tree?

Yes! When the wind blows the tree's branches scratch up against the house.

Th-then...

... It's not ghosts?

[well i just feel silly now]

No, I don't think that was a ghost.

Then... nothing's gonna eat me?

Not... unless you count me! [She reaches for Elicia and begins to tickle the little girl.]

[JHGKDFJGHDFHKGJ CRAP, CAUGHT OFF GUARD--!!

GHK]

N-nooooo!! Stop, my siiiide--!!

[GIGGLING OH NO I CAN'T EVEN HELP IT]

[NOW TO DELIVER THE FINAL BLOW. Winry catches Elicia in her squirming and 'blows a raspberry' on her.]

[DOOM AND DISCORD.

brb floppin around like a fish]

[She laughs and lets Elicia go.]

Okay, feel better now?

Y-yeah... I feel better! ['u'] But I wish that tree wouldn't make so much noise!

I could ask Ed to trim the tree if you don't want it scratching on the house anymore.

Really? Do you think he can do that for me? With this alchemy, even!

Yeah, I'm sure he can do it for you.

Alright...! Tomorrow, we can ask him...

[She curls up more, content with this.]
