27th Teddy Bear [Action Anytime]

[Elicia was expecting to be in the middle of a scuffle between enemy winged soldiers. Not to be waking up half-drugged and in an old-fashion malnosso dress. She hadn't done this little dance in a few years now... What did that mean? Did they come back? Impossible, they were... Well, we'll figure this out as we go, Elicia. When she gets up, she nearly falls over, and finds with frustration that her automail leg wasn't working properly. Something was wrong with the knee—aaah, Winry would be pretty grumpy about that.

'This would be the second time this week.'

But it's around the time she cracks open her journal that she realizes something's not right. These entries, they're only up to her sixth birthday? No, that can't be right. Where did all her other.... Oh. Oh wow.

She was fourteen years in the past.

She limps out of the forest, dazed but not confused enough to ruin her train of thought: go to the item shop, find her clothes. The Malnosso always left clothes. And then she'll head to the smithy, to find her sword and... and then she'll need to find Winry in the smithy. Now dressed up, she's found herself a good pair of glasses; if she can... if she can, she'd rather not tell them who she is. Would that change things?

Would that be so bad, though? She's not entirely sure. She's nervous and worried and—and—

... nostalgic. Much much later, after everything, she'll head to the houses of people she's most familiar with. A lot of people aren't where she remembers, but she'll try to find them none-the-less. Probably after heading to where her mom and dad are. She'll also be wondering around in awe at the place. So much different and yet so much changed.... Don't mind her if she looks dumbfounded at something, or surprised at another. If you're expecting a shorty, you'll be surprised—she's 5'9". Her father has great genes, like that.]

Oh. You know. Just making weapons, talking to unusually tall six year olds, and so on. Nothing unusual. How about you?

I'm not six, I'm 20. But other than that, just surprised and looking for my stuff.

[She wobbles a few steps toward a seat, to sit and look around the place. Wooow, this was so many years back. It's mystifying!]

So... this is your shop. Hasn't changed too much, I see.

I wouldn't know. [And well, she knows him all too well. So it means he's in that future. Just like Xion's future. Ugh.]

Yeah, yeah, it's pretty bleak. [she scuffs her foot at the ground] It's not all bad. Some pretty intense stuff sometimes, but that's just Luceti for ya'.

[The fortunate thing about all this is that Sokka has sort of deemed these alternate futures as well, um, not real. It's easier to think of them that way.]

Well if you're really from the future, we can only hope that means the Malnosso now knows what won't work.

Well I think, logically, you're already changing things just by being here. Do you remember this ever happening to you as a kid?

Mmmm... No. But then, there are a few things I don't remember very well.

I recall getting kidnapped around this time, though.

And... waking up in an amusement park. It was a pretty weird day, actually; but it was pretty cool! I rode the carousel a lotta' times.

Well, I don't see an amusement park. So there's that. Luceti Land was two years ago.

We'll see. The future is an open ticket for whatever happens, right...?

I might try changing a few things while I'm here, anyway...

[Well Sokka has looked into this time travel stuff before. He picked up the wrong book in the library.]

But if you changed the future, then this version of you would never have existed. And then you wouldn't think to come back to fix it.

Alternate universes. Parallel universes. [Timey-wimey stuff. :|a] The future isn't set in stone; there are thousands and billions of threads that are all split up. Right now, depending on the choices you make, there are endless futures deviating off that one choice. And even then, forces outside of your control to do it for you... A bunch of different yous.

But then, this is just my theory. I think once the future is changed, there will be another me for six-year-old Elicia, waiting to be lived. I'll just turn into one of the threads that was a possibility. Or... maybe I was always just a possibility. But I can't forget what I've lived. This Elicia will just never have to live it in her new timeline.

...

I think. Or maybe I'll accidentally collapse time. We'll see.
