27th Teddy Bear [Action Anytime]

[Elicia was expecting to be in the middle of a scuffle between enemy winged soldiers. Not to be waking up half-drugged and in an old-fashion malnosso dress. She hadn't done this little dance in a few years now... What did that mean? Did they come back? Impossible, they were... Well, we'll figure this out as we go, Elicia. When she gets up, she nearly falls over, and finds with frustration that her automail leg wasn't working properly. Something was wrong with the knee—aaah, Winry would be pretty grumpy about that.

'This would be the second time this week.'

But it's around the time she cracks open her journal that she realizes something's not right. These entries, they're only up to her sixth birthday? No, that can't be right. Where did all her other.... Oh. Oh wow.

She was fourteen years in the past.

She limps out of the forest, dazed but not confused enough to ruin her train of thought: go to the item shop, find her clothes. The Malnosso always left clothes. And then she'll head to the smithy, to find her sword and... and then she'll need to find Winry in the smithy. Now dressed up, she's found herself a good pair of glasses; if she can... if she can, she'd rather not tell them who she is. Would that change things?

Would that be so bad, though? She's not entirely sure. She's nervous and worried and—and—

... nostalgic. Much much later, after everything, she'll head to the houses of people she's most familiar with. A lot of people aren't where she remembers, but she'll try to find them none-the-less. Probably after heading to where her mom and dad are. She'll also be wondering around in awe at the place. So much different and yet so much changed.... Don't mind her if she looks dumbfounded at something, or surprised at another. If you're expecting a shorty, you'll be surprised—she's 5'9". Her father has great genes, like that.]

Hm? [The voice gets her attention, as Raine didn't notice the young woman's approach. She sets down her brush and tilts her head, looking up... and up, toward the tall young woman.

... Holding a sword. Hm.

There's something in the eyes, the face -- but for the moment, she can't place it.]

Ah, hello... I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage. Can I help you?

I just, um...

[she dips her chin, smiling a bit]

I wanted to see how you were doing, is all. I'm a lot taller than you'd remember...

[... No, older. Raine carefully gets to her feet -- the four inch difference between them is rather noticeable then, but at least it allows her a better look at the younger woman's face and features.

Wide green eyes. And that hair color...]

Are you -- Elicia?

... I guess it's not too hard to tell, huh?

Well, you did help out with your hint, or else I might not have made the connection. You're an adult... it is a little startling. Although in Luceti, just about anything is possible.

[...] Are you all right?

I'm... [so-so. decent enough. still kicking?] I'm really freaked out and confused.

I can imagine. Shifts playing around with ages and timelines... they can get disorienting pretty quickly.

[She takes a better, more appraising look. Grown so much, and seems somewhat hardened by it. And where--and when-- did she come from? But Raine silences her thoughts.] Would you like to sit with me on the porch and have some lemonade? It should give you some time to gather your thoughts, at least...

That sounds really nice, actually. [She's a little exhausted from all of this at once.] You wouldn't mind?

If I minded, I wouldn't have made the offer. [She offers a gentle smile, and turns to gesture her toward the porch.] Come along now.

[She nods, following along. She's used to being taller, but it certainly doesn't feel like its her place to be. At least she's the usual calm, patient Raine. Makes it feel less jarring...]

I'm actually not from home. My home, I mean.

[But Raine is one of the people she would hold a lot of information from about the future, if she could help it. The image of Albert being dragged off is still fresh in her mind, despite how many years it'd been.]

I sort of... grew up here...

... Here? I-I see... [Those words gives her pause as she absorbs them. It wouldn't be the first time she had heard of such an occurrence -- it's more that the idea of it is more startling when it comes from a young girl like Elicia, and what the implication of that is. Anything is a possibility.]

When I last saw you, you had just turned six. [She leads her up the steps, and toward the chairs.] It looks like it must have been quite a few years since then.

Yeah... It's been fourteen years.

[At least the worst was over; she'd already spoken to her mother, and the weight on her shoulders was slowly dissipating. She smiles a bit.]

My sixth birthday, huh? That was... the castle birthday, right?

[She has the picture of her in the princess outfit, in one of her frames back home. Dad never had a problem getting shots for future viewing.]

That's right. It was quite the party. [A small smile, and then she shakes her head.]

Fourteen years... that's a long time. [And it meant that the girl -- woman? before her was twenty. And in this place for so long.] It's no wonder you're experiencing disorientation. [And then a pause. This could potentially be the wrong thing to ask.] Have you seen your family?

Yeah. I have. They're all... taking it one step at a time.

I guess it's just a good thing they're used to a little bit of luceti; I know they haven't been here very long, so it's still pretty weird when things like this happen...

Well, if it can "make" people younger, it can make them older as well. It's just... less frequent, so less expected. Especially when the future remains uncertain.

Yeah. [She rubs her arm nervously.] I guess it is pretty uncertain...

[A small frown, as she studies her. She seems so... was it nervous? Unsettled.] You must have experienced quite a lot, during those years...

... Ah, I said I would get you some lemonade, didn't I?

Oh, yeah! Thanks, I could use a drink.

All right. I promise I won't take long, so don't go anywhere. {Relax, collect yourself, look at the pretty garden instead! Albert's well tended flowers and Raine's vegetables.]

[... Aww. Her frown deepens, and she keeps her gaze focused on that nice garden of yours. Not that it's reminding her of painful memories, or anything.

[As promised, she doesn't take long. A pitcher of lemonade, two glasses, and a bowl of light snacks. It'll take some juggling to get the door open, but that's multi-tasking for you.]

[She smiles up, flinching to help.] Ah—do you need some help with that?

If you can just hold the door open for me a moment, I'd appreciate it.

[Hopping to her feet! Lemme just get this door for you. Like a boss.]

Aw, you didn't have to go to so much trouble; you're too nice, Miss Raine.

Thank you. And it's not any trouble. [She smiles as she brings everything to the small table, and sets the glasses down so she can pour the lemonade.]
