[STORY TIME]

[Pfft, that reaction was beautiful, Elicia. Miyabi laughs and smiles brightly.] Hehe, don't worry, he won't get cooked. This story has a happy ending.

Just as the rabbit was about to jump into the fire and cook himself, the beggar suddenly changed himself back into the old man of the moon.

"You are very kind, Mr. Rabbit," the old man said. "But you should never do anything to harm yourself. Since you are the kindest of all, I'll take you home to live with me."

[Here, have another, larger picture, little sister.] Then, the old man of the moon took the rabbit into his arms and carried him up to the moon. If you look carefully at the moon when it's shining very brightly, you can still see the rabbit there where the old man put him so very long ago.

[And she takes a bit of red on her brush, outlining the shadow of the moon she drew, so that it looks like a rabbit making mochi.]

Another rumor says that the rabbit still is the kindest of all, and makes rice cakes for hungry people and animals to this day. That's why the rabbit god of my homeland, Yumigami, carries a large wooden mallet, to pound the dough.
