This is a personal appointment post for anyone who wants to contact Elicia Hughes (

asobouyo ) without going to the trouble of setting up a log/journal; as I'll say with all my characters, if you have any reason to contact her at all, go right ahead here! Voice, Video, Written, or Action is completely acceptable. Just keep in mind that she's at school at certain times on weekdays (it's sketchy enough to say 'after school' or before or what have you)!

Please put the the month and the type of communication—i.e. [March 29th][Action], or anything in that sort of way—in the subject line (putting why you're there is totally optional; I'm sure I'll figure it out through the character eventually. |D).

[They're out of groceries at the apartment. Since he needed to head into town anyways, Shikamaru decided to bring a few things along with him to drop off at the item shop. The games at Lucetiland were fun, but it's not like he's a kid or anything. He doesn't need all these dinky prizes. 8|

...he did keep some of the bigger ones. Just because they looked cool. >>

So with the toys tossed into a small sack carried over his shoulder, Shikamaru heads into town, enjoying the weather. For an August day, it's not especially warm. He'd sit down and enjoy it a little more, if not for-]

[And hark! As Shikamaru passes the school he may notice a despairing little girl with a doll in her hands near the front doors. Tears? What are tears? The river down each eye? Don't be silly. ;u;

S-sniff, sniffle.

This is the worst day ever.]

[Right, what tears. BATTLE-HARDENED NINJA HERE-

Okay, no. He stops, taking a few casual steps towards the front of the school.] Oi! You okay?

[No skinned knees or elbows that he can see, but it's not like kids cry for no reason. Usually.]

[She shakes her head at that, before holding up her doll. She's got a dangling leg, barely held by stitching that is not doing too good across her spine.]

I got her stuck on a nail and she got ripped... a-and now it's getting worse!!

[S-SNIFF!! SNIFFLE!! ;~;]

It's all my fault!!

[...he thinks he would've been able to work with a skinned elbow better. >>]

Aa, is that it? [Srs face is a go, as he walks to the doors.] Calm down. Accidents happen sometimes, you know?

How 'bout I take a look at her and see how bad it is. [He crocues down besides her, holding out on hand for the doll.] That okay?

[Admittedly, it doesn't look like anything that can be fixed on his part, but you have to give these things a try.]

[... sniff. sniffle.

She drops the doll in his hand.]

[He'd thank her, but as soon as the doll hits his hand, therrrre goes that thread holding it's leg together.

Icon reflective of a ninja's inner thoughts of oh shit.]

[Welp.]

Uhhh. Yeah. I'd say that's pretty bad.

[...well, this is new. Last time he checked, he wasn't living in a little girl's room.]

[So he has this body, right? Hm. Kinda...poofly. And soft. Well, maybe he just needs to work it a bit to get the life back into the stuffing. He sniffs, the fabric around his blue nose wrinkling briefly, and then twitches his ears.]

[asdfghjkl shiiiiiiit]

Oi! Remember what I said, right? [He puts his free hand up placatingly.] Accidents happen. Crying isn't going to fix them though, is it?

[Hopefully that doesn't make her... cry more. He keeps his tone gentle and encouraging, in any case.]

[Don't mind if she picks you up and gives you a good swing around, Mr. Reindeer.]

Hmmmmm!! I need a good name for yooou~!

But are you gonna be a girl, or a boy...

[:|a this is a toughie.]

You got pink pants! Maybe you're a girl...

[S-sniff. Sniff.]

C-crying doesn't fix it...

What should I do?

Well... [He grins as the idea strikes him.] How 'bout you make a deal with me?

A-a deal?

[sniff]

[Okay, so far so good - annnd there's the girl. What's her name? Elicia? He goes ragdoll again, the dopey smile on his face fixed in place as she swings him around.]

[Huh. Come to think of it...why does he have to stay like this? Well, it feels right, at least, so there's no sense in lingering over it -]

[- WHAT.]

I'm not a girl!

[Whups. >> Well...have a stuffed reindeer, indignantly blinking its plastic eyes at you, Elicia!]

Yeah. How about we trade? You can give me this broken doll here and I'll see if I can find someone who'll fix her up. In exchange for that...

[He picks up the sack he'd set down when he came up to see Elicia, and sticks his hand to root around in it. It's true, there's a lot of toys in it... but most of them are things boys would be interested in. But there's one toy he thinks she might like, and he pulls it out when he finds it.

It's a small plushie he won at one of the game booths, greatly resembling a certain pirate. Shikamaru got it because it was a deer. He holds it up for her to see.]

.... [Ooooh.] It looks like Chopper!!

Chopper? Oh right, that reindeer pirate guy. [He met him once. It does look like him, come to think of it.]

Sound like a good deal?

[He gives the plushie a little shake with his hand, making the arms sway. Come ooooon. Doesn't he look cute?]

[Better than the hugs he's been getting lately. And at least she's not crying anymore either.]

Heh. Then it's all yours. [He gives Elicia a pat on the head, moving to stand back up.] Take good care of it.
