[This is Elicia, looking ashamed, puffing out her cheeks; whelp, she dun did it. She stole. She committed a crime and would surely be locked up in the tunnels for life, grow a beard, make friends with the rats there. Yes. Especially with the discovery of the bag of goods in her closet. For a week she ate nervously at dinner, stopped her mom from putting clothes away before hiding the bag further back, under some blankets. She paced by the door, hand on chin, brow furrowed. She tossed and turned, dreaming of the stolen things hopping out to confront her. Awake in a cold sweat, pleading with the stars to unburden her from this paaaaaain.

HER SHAME WAS STRONG AND HER HEART HEAVY.

So here she is.]

Um... A while ago, I... took some people's things. I-I didn't mean to! I don't know why I did it--I thought I was a really cool thief who stole for good reasons! But I guess I wasn't really and it was all in my head... I have all the stuff still, though. Right here!

[She lets the camera pan over all the things she's stolen. Yep, look at all that stuff.]

I snuck out and took these, a-and I feel real bad about it. But if you come over, I can give it back! Mama and papa says that's the right thing to do, always, to give back anything you take...

I'm sorry! Really, really, really, really sorry! I'll make it up to everyone, I promise!

[Hmph. His grin fades slightly at the edges. This didn't quite end on as amusing a note as he would have thought; how unsatisfying. He laughs anyway, instinctively, thrusting aside unsure feelings. After all, the point of this was to feel far better than when he started.]

Well there's a chicken but... but not what I meant. Okay, if you saw nothing and I get him back it's okay!

[She stands there for a moment, sheepish and red in the face, a little scared--because what if it's her fault, that that guy said those mean things?--but hesitantly, she finally decides to hand over the book.]

Oh! So that means a kid pony, kids like me! Right?

Ooooh! Well, that's good.

I stole a lot of things! Look!

Of course they're sparkly! And important! Lots of people have things that are important to them that people try to take sometimes. It's not very nice, taking those things.

But there definitely, definitely is! Everyone should apologize when they did something wrong, 'specially if it could have hurt someone's feelings!

And it's super fun! Throwing parties and having adventures and throwing party adventures and having adventure parties!

You don't have to worry, Elicia -- I'm already proud of you. And I'm sure your parents and your friends are, too, for owning up to your mistake and trying to make up for it.

[There's a soft laugh.]

That's definitely true--you should always apologize if you think you hurt someone. But like you said before, you hadn't meant to do any of those things. And you hadn't meant to hurt anyone, right?

Too many scruples, you. FAR too many for such a young child. Have to speak to Hughes about that....
